Although we didn't win, we certainly defied the odds. See for yourself...
This past Spring, I got into this race because I didn’t like the direction our state was headed. Colorado was becoming less safe and our law enforcement professionals were being silenced. They were being intentionally excluded from public policy matters that led to a rash of violent crimes, stolen vehicles and more. As the wife of a law enforcement officer, that wasn’t just unsafe for the state, it was unsafe for my family.
We made a strong case for change in this senate district and the families in the south suburbs. The single party rule at the capitol isn’t working for Colorado families. We face an affordability crisis – grocery bills are too high, housing is crippling our young families and residents and we continue to see rising energy bills.
This is what happens when there’s no dissent in Denver. When there’s no dialogue or voices for the minority. When there’s no one fighting for the people and families in Colorado.
While the one-party rule at the capitol looks to continue, their extreme positions have drawn the ire of the people. And while the people may have lost a voice inside the state senate, we have to be a loud voice outside the capitol to make sure the people still have a voice to push back on the extremely costly policies we’ve seen in the past. I know I will, continuing my first term on Centennial City Council.
The numbers just didn’t look good. But, this fight was too important to sit out. I want to thank so many of you for fighting alongside me. I couldn’t have done this campaign without you, and would like to recognize some incredible individuals and groups:
Finally, here are some brighter sides of a loss:
Some may be discouraged by the apparent darkening of Colorado, yet I see it as an opportunity. It is only among darkness that light can shine bright. Friends, it's time to shine!
Cheers to just the beginning...
💜 Robyn
Robyn has a passion for community service and helping others, which led her to run for Centennial City Council. Working in a non-partisan environment, Robyn sought collaboration with community and her colleagues to be responsive to her resident's needs. She is now running for Senate District 16 in hopes of continuing her legacy of service to Coloradans in a greater capacity.
Originally from Iowa where she learned a strong work ethic and the importance of humility, Robyn found her way to Colorado to build her life. Robyn has lived in Centennial for 20+ years with her husband, who serves in law enforcement, and two sons, who attend Littleton Public Schools.
Her life outside of her professional commitments is just as full and enriching. Nothing beats a robust cup of coffee to kick start her mornings followed by a run with her faithful 79-pound companion and rescue from Dumb Friends League, Samson. She is her boys' biggest cheerleader at their sporting events. Robyn's life is a testament to balance, joy, and resilience, a constant source of inspiration.
Senate District 16 is a multi-county district encompassing Arapahoe and Jefferson Counties (Centennial, Littleton, Columbine Valley and Ken Caryl Valley) in the south central Denver Metro area with 133,692 voters.
Robyn has been part of Denver's South Metro tapestry for 20+ years. She has worked tirelessly, in various leadership roles, to make it a better place and is currently serving on Centennial City Council. As a local elected official, Robyn worked as a nonpartisan, collaborative representative to serve her community and her constituents.

No single party has all the answers, and Coloradans want well-vetted, collaborative policies. Right now, that isn’t happening. In fact, today, every lever in our state government is controlled by one political party. Debate and contrary opinions are stifled, and the minority party has no voice. No single party has all the answers, and Coloradans want well-vetted, collaborative policies. Right now, that isn’t happening. In fact, today, every lever in our state government is controlled by one political party. Debate and contrary opinions are stifled, and the minority party has no voice. Without hearing opposing viewpoints, Coloradans suffer from intended and unintended consequences. Bringing back balance and common sense is why I’m running. If we don’t win SD16, we risk more of the same and a potential single-party supermajority that can pursue policies that will affect Colorado families not just for years, but for generations.
Things are not getting any better in Colorado. From the high cost of living to housing, increased crime and homelessness, there is just too much at stake to not get involved. We can sit on the sidelines and complain, living in fear, or get involved. Now is the time to take a stand for what truly matters.
